about

ABOUT THIS TRACK:
Arranged in the realm of Steely Dan, this retro-rock track tells a story of betrayal and forgiveness. Forgiveness is the theme and 'the light' as the culmination of wisdom, represents actions taken in the aspirational spirit of enlightenment.
Here are some comments from listeners at Reverbnation as follows:

FABULOUS, right out of the starting block! I lived through the '80s, and this brings me back to those awesome days. Love the music, love the lyrics, Artist has a mellow,but flowing sound, and the musical beat (opening bongos) really make this tune something you can listen to over and over again. Well done.

This song has an awesome break beat! I love this groove! This song has a nice keyboard sound, and the keyboard player really plays well! I also really like the organist, I think he is doing a great job of anchoring this piece harmonically! The background vocals of the chorus are truly magical! I just loved focusing on the individual timbres of each voice! The bassist is really playing with a deep groove, and lots of funk added in for good measure! I really like the percussion on this track as well! The percussion, I feel, is one of the things making this song stand out! The commercial potential for this song is really high! Nice job!

Retro instrumentals, love the variety and how rhythmic they are; compelling and atmospheric. Vocals are distinct and very clear, very consistent and feels a little like Michael Jackson somehow. Memorable melody and I dig the guitar work.

This is a catchy song. It makes you want to dance. The vocalist is really good. The voice is mellow yet upbeat which is hard to achieve. The vocalization is nice but I feel like it is placed in the wrong part of the song. Maybe in the beginning or at the bridge. It doesn't really work in the chorus.
++++++++_+
The drums and funk guitar immediately set a funk night time setting. The singer works against the instrumentals with finesse. She has strong versatility and great vocal acrobatics.. This song would be good dance music for a certain venue or resort. The addition of the trumpets is the icing on the cake.
+++++++++
The beginning is very entertaining, and continues to be fun. The artists is unique with his vocal abilities. I love the combination of all the sounds and beats being used. It is a very unique song in general &I think it's a wonderful song and would listen to it again.
+++++++++
Great rhythm section. Love the music. The vocal is better than average and the song has some interesting melody changes. Guitar is hot but the solo is a bit long. Organ rocks too. Good track.
+++++++++
This song has great drums as it comes in to the intro. the artist sounds very 80's. kind of disco like. thats a great sound. i like the cords of the guitar in the back and the sounds of the horns...the drums are also very nice. i like the way the artist delivers her lyrics across the melody. her vocals are also very nice. she has this very smooth delivery of her vocal tones...nice!! i really love the guitar solo toward the end...that a very sophisticated sound. also the organ sounds are great...i would love to put this on on my iphone. the soulful tunes that are delivered are nice, this song is easy to listen to and its a song that you can just chill too, or be used to get you in the mood to go to work in the morning.
+++++++++
The intro to this song is very funky. The bongo drum used with the other funky sounds are very cool way to create fun music. The vocals used for this song is very cool and deep voice works well with the music. The melodys used are fantastic for this song because it all works well together and all bounce off eachother. The voice seems to be bouncing off the beat. I really like this song because of how funky and cool it is.
+++++++++
Cool intro right away, love the funky sound. Nice guitar paying and nice keyboard sound. The vocals are nice and have a nice tone, but a little soft for this particular track. While the song sounds totally original, it's not catchy enough for commercial sale. Some of the harmonies are really nice. Overall, this song was good, very average, but with the styling, has potential.
+++++++++
This song has a really nice tune to listen to. The chorus has an interesting way that it slows down before speeding up again. Its a little different from other songs that have a similar sound. Mix up in the rhythm and instruments throughout without being jarring or disjointing.
+++++++++
You better get up and dance to this instrumental credit to the producer for making this awesome track! The voice of the artist sync in pretty well with the song I really enjoy it. This is a great music to feel like double o 7 for some reason. It just makes you feel cool lol Overall great track chill and laid back type of music.
+++++++++
Seeming instrumentally reminiscent from Daft Punk's "Get Lucky" this track has come around at the right time with summer just on it's way. The female vocalist allows the song to feel even more summery with high notes being perfectly executed throughout the track, ensuring that the listener is hooked. When you're lying around the pool this summer, put this track on repeat and watch as the sun begins to shine even brighter.
+++++++++
The introduction is very funky and preps the audience for a good time, and the deep voice of the vocal artist smooths over the edges in the beginning. The interaction between the electric guitar and with the piano (I think...) balances well with the soft energy supported by this song. The performance is magnificent and the audience stays on key with no surprises.
+++++++++
Upbeat and funky right away from the first notes. The intro was just right....not too long and leads right into the lyrics. I love the deep warm tones in the lead vocals as well as the sweet higher notes reached in the chorus. The instruments are very complimentary, there isn't any one sound that is distracting from another. The upbeat melody stays throughout, even in the bridge. The guitar riff after the bridge is interesting and different but adds to the song, doesn't feel too long or indulgent. The lyrics are well crafted and clear to the listener. The additional vocals added towards the end just add more interesting layers. They don't detract from the lead. overall this is a well done song.
+++++++++
The beginning of this song chucks you straight in the middle of the Latino summer. However there's nothing Mediterranean about the vocals- with lyrics so clear that you'll be singing them by the end of the day. The chorus of the song is so anthemic that you'll definitely be singing from now until summer- where you'll be hearing it everywhere you go. Whether you're into sixties funk or modern day dance music- you're going to find this track great, and one that you're not going to get bored of any time soon, however much you hear it. The lyrics take you on the lead singers journey with lyrics such as "you'll find me wherever you find me" leaving the identity as mysterious as the outro. The array of instruments ensures a diverse listening experience and therefore ensures that whoever you are, you're going to like this track.

I really like what you have done here, the tempo is just right, and your voice blends well with the type of music.

there is a nice well shaped sound to this song. the orgasn in this has a slight but ever vesant blend to it. the music is excellent. there is a very creative brnd here. the singer has a voice that is exqusssitte, so attractive and alluring.a very nice steady singer. her words are truth +++++++
This a beautiful jazzy like jam here. The artist have that vocal jazz persona I like. The rhythm here is that funky jazz dance rhythm and beat and I feeling it all the way. Good record I must say; I enjoyed that guitar in the back the most.
+++++++++
This song is very professionally developed, I can tell. The intro immediately gives the song a refreshingly, tasteful, yet lovingly romantic beat and sound. It reminds me of some of my favorite romantic lifetime movies I used to watch all the time. Her vocals have the perfect pitch to give the song a soft, but alluring touch and feel. The singer sounds very musically and vocally talented and experienced.
+++++++++
This joint has a really nice hand-drum beat on it. the vibe of this joint is so smooth. The guitar play has that jazz/alternative combination sound to it that seems to mesh really well on this track. The vocals are exceptional and the artist's voice is perfect in pitch and sound to me, I can feel it.
+++++++++
I love the way that this track flows. The vocals are so light. She has this crisp and clean voice. The track almost sounds like something from a neo soul ballad. At times she has this sound that is something like Prince. I like the simplistic arrangement.
+++++++++
Sounds very much like Steely Dan's: 'Do It Again' as far as the background music. The musical background on that track has the best rhythm and beat by the way. This track has a fairly good melody. The vocals here are very attractive. The background harmony with the lead is standout. The lead has a nice gentle silky approach to the lyrics. The instrumentals are good. Especially the guitar solo at the bridge.
+++++++++
If you like James Brown, then without explanation this track is something that you would like. Why? Because of the instruments like the electric guitar, the keyboards and the bass guitar. The vocals are from a female artist who can definitely sing. She is a wonderful talent. I wonder if this artist knows she has a sure hit here.
+++++++++
This song has a bold guitar and drum melody with a retro 70s flavor. I can actually picture people dancing in a 70s bar. The singer's voice is low and smooth with a whispery edge. She sounds like a blues version of Melissa Etheridge. The lyrics are well written and talk about being hurt in love..."I feel like I've been cut by a knife." This song would appeal to oldies fans.
+++++++++
Engaging, captivating, and alluring sums up this track for me. First of all, the opening with the dance beat is beautiful. The melody of the drums, bells, chimes and electric guitar all flows together well and gives off this dance energetic vibe to it that is delightful. The vocal of the artist is low and soothing. The artist has a soft tone to her vocal +++++++++
The percussion engages from the off, sublimely produced. The bass is smooth and groovy. The progressive nature of the tune is interesting, the changes and constant revisals of mood highly entertaining. The jazzy guitar is thoroughly brilliant, the solo exceptional and complex. The clear skill of all the musicians is blatantly apparent.
+++++++++
The introduction is very unique, kicking off with a bongo drum, keyboard and funky guitar combo, it is innovative and different from the norm'. The vocalist is talented and sings in a chilled and soothing tone.
+++++++++
The drums were nice and so were the other instruments. This song is a song that I can play in my living room with a bunch of friends. This song is a great uplifting song.
+++++++++
The singer has a good voice. I think that she has a great tone and she is excellent with this. She would do great with other songs. She impresses me alot with her lyrics on this song. She sounds really excited when she sings this. She has great heart for this.
+++++++++
This song has smooth partying all over it! Its got the spice of the king of pop when the vocals hit, as well as the styling's James Brown with the brass section. With touch of that good old Stevie wonder in it when the percussion hits with the guitar. If I was going to make a change maybe just a tough of distortion on either guitar or keyboard but that's it great tune!
+++++++++
Some well played instrumentals start this track out. The vocalist that comes in follows the instruments well and her voice is very pleasant to the ears. The lyrics are very easy to understand and get the message across to the listener well. This song has a funky and exciting feel to it.

LYRICS:

A fine time, fine time to tell
A fine time to explain
Fine time, fine time to tell me
I won’t take the blame

But I feel like I’ve been cut by you
But I won't be cruel and I won't be bad to you

Somewhere, that’s where you’ll find me
Rainbow far away
Good luck may the road wind me
Beyond your betrayal

But I feel like I’ve been hurt by you
But I won't be cruel and I won't be mad at you
Oh no

And the reason that is
Is my reason to be
Like a dark starry night
And a cold winter sea
That keeps me in flight
To my destiny
The light…. Light

about

Joy Mover Hopkinton, Rhode Island

Listen closely. The next voice you hear will be a new one. Newer than new. A coy, edgy, imaginative voice. A shivery, fugitive voice, barely touching the notes, entering and departing the ear without leave. The voice belongs to Joy Mover. She is very different; provocative, thoughtful, interesting. To follow her in song is to exercise the mind. Her voice is always… beautiful ... more
