Martin Said 04:59
Oh the time is always right to do what's right (Martin said) In the mornin, afternoon, all through the night When the whims of fate and fortune Sail you right on down the river And the dreams you feed on Lives you lead on Taking from the givers And the time is always right to do what’s right, Martin said Yes the time is always right to do what’s right Tell everybody to hold on tight Tell everybody It’s a wild ride So hold on tight Hold on tight For the change Need to change If we change When we cha-a-a-a-nge ourselves We sustain the world One person at a time Can change We can change If we change When we cha-a-a-nge ourselves We can heal the world And the time it must be now to do what’s right From the east to the west to the southern and northern lights On a sea of change that rearranges Yesterday’s tomorrows Yet what still remains a dream’s refrain Of happiness and sorrows And the time is always right to do what’s right (Martin said) Yes the time is always right to do what’s right He said to tell everybody An eye for an eye Makes everybody blind So hold on tight Can’t see where we’re going Hold on tight For the change Need to change If we change When we cha-a-a-nge ourselves We change the world One person at a time Can change Rearrange When we change If we cha-a-a-ange ourselves Maybe we’ll heal this world Yes we can change the world Heal the world Brothers and sisters Boys and girls If we love one another We can heal the world When we honor our mother (earth) We’ll heal the world We can change Need to change When we change If we change We change the world And the time is always right to do what is right…Martin said Yes the time is always right to do what’s right

‘House of the Rising Sun’ When you walk through a storm hold your head up high And don't be afraid of the dark Of the dark There is a house in New Orleans They call the Rising Sun It’s been the ruin of many good girls And G-D you know I’m one My mother she was a tailor And she sewed my new, my new blue jeans And my father he was a gambling man He played down, down in New Orleans When you walk through a storm hold your head up high And don't be afraid of the dark At the end of the storm is a golden tide And the sweet silver song of a lark Now the only thing a gambler needs Is a suitcase and his tr-unk The only time he was ever satisfied Is when he was stone cold dru-nk When you walk through a storm hold your head up high And don't be afraid of the dark Of the dark Tell your children Not to do what I- what I’ve have done To spend your life in sin and misery In the house of the rising, rising, rising, rising Sun I got one foot on the platform The others on the train I’m goin home- going back to New Orleans To wear my ball and chain Well, there is a house it’s there in New Orleans That they call the Rising Sun oh oh oh oh oh And it’s been the ruin of many boys and girls And G-D oh no - you know I’m one…. HERE'S WHAT REVERBNATION LISTENERS ARE SAYING: “RISING SUN" 1) I love the bluesy nature of this piece. It jams along and makes me want to pick up my guitar and do some soloing. This is one of the first times recently that I've heard a harmonica in a song that sounds like it belongs. Great vocal and lyric in addition to this, making this a solid winner in my book. 2) Love the cooing vocals that come after the intro, superb guitar with great vocals that really compliment the rhythm guitar. Seem almost rastafarian which gives a cool island vibe. Digging it! 3) Love the vocals. Reeally fun song. Then they drop that ragaee funk on us. Really great and orginial piece. Stylisticly, I don't know if i've heard anything like it. Great song 4) I really like the strong female lead and I liked this version of the track and I would be anxious to hear more from them 5) I thought it was a bit different and I def like it. I can def appreciate what they were going for here. Different is damn good. Loved her voice 6) The vocals are good, very strong and pleasant, and the instrumental piece is quite good as well. It's a unique, catchy, positive song with a good beat. Her use of her voice is almost as an instrucment at times, as well as conveying a great message with the lyrics. 7) They have a really great sound that stands out really nice and strong they blend really well together I like this a lot really nice 8) 9) I thought the vocals in this song were so great. Her voice was so smooth and in perfect tune with the instrumentation in this song. The lyrics in this song were good as well. 10) Its a remix of an old 1960's? Animals song. House of the rising sun. I like this rendition. The instruments are good. I love the voice and how she changes the words from poor boy to poor girl. She doens't exactly redo the song, but its a beautifully different rendition. She keeps the same sort of music lines, while rearranging them but keeping the same tempo and tune to it in a very basic way. She gives the song a new air. 11) Loved the Broadway aspect of this song, all the twists and turns kept me interested throughout the piece. Really liked this one! Lots of good energy! 12) 13) I really like the male/female collaboration at the beginning of the song. The production is also excellent, as it combines a more vintage sound with electric instruments. The backbeat is catchy without being overkill. 14) A large sounding intro leads to a vocalist who sings with angelic qualities while bringing a good time to the listeners through the solid production. 15) I liked the guitar instrumentation. I liked the uplifting lyrics. I liked the spin on the original song and thought her vocals were done exquisitely. 16) I did not expect that guitar to kick in during the intro. This was a pretty cool cover. The harmonies in the beginning were done well. Creative reggae. 17) I enjoyed the blend of outstanding guitar work and powerful vocals in combination. This is an old song but has been re-done with a unique interpretation that is engaging and entertaining. 18) I like how this song has a lot of meaning to it. The guitar and the vocals go well together. I like the track because is easy to understand 19) I love how the song's instrumentation has a reggae style strumming melody and flavor. The vocals in the song has a complementary sound for the beat. 20) I thought the combination of vocals was great, and I liked some elements of the song. I also thought the instrumentals were great and with a lot of hard work. 21) Interesting mash up. I like the reggae version of the House of the RIsin Sun. Nice guitar licks also. I like the voice. I also like the harmonica solo 22) The artist had some good vocals. The guitar in the song was very good and it complimented the artists voice very well. I also like this song in general 23) This song has great vocals. The notes hit are done by a professional who probably really cares about the music being exceptionally good. This is great.

I’m flyin, flyin Look at me way up high suddenly in the sky I’m flyin I know a place where dreams are born And time is never planned It's not on any chart You must find it with your heart Never Never Land It might be miles beyond the moon Or right there where you stand Just keep an open mind And then suddenly you'll find Never Never Land You'll find a treasure if you stay there More precious far than gold For once you have found your way there You can never, never grow old And that's my home where dreams are born And time is never planned Think of lovely things And your heart will fly on wings Forever only in Never Never Land I’m flyin, flyin Look at me way up high suddenly in the sky I’m flyin

WINTER SONG (I Will Love You Tonight ) (c) by Joy Mover I will love you tonight (you tonight) I have loved you forever Hold me close hold me tight (real tight) For the time we’re together Cause you never know What tomorrow will bring (will bring) Who may come & go On a songbird’s wing Feel the warmth of your fire (your fire) Burning infatuation Can’t control this desire There is no hesitation Get so high & low Black & white Night & day If I let you go Will you fly away? Listen to my heart Do you want to hear it? Finish what you start In between what’s make believe & real How I feel …How I feel…is it real? Listen to my heart If you want to hear it Tearin me apart In between what’s make believe and real How I feel …how I feel …is it real? In the mornin sunlight (bright sunlight) Will we shine on forever? It was love at first (at first bite) But it’s now or it’s never And we just don’t know (we’ll never know) or (we just don;t know) What tomorrow’s gonna bring (will bring) As I watched you go heard the songbird sing, (songbird sing) Winter song to spring

Insight 05:50
I’m not this body….It’s just a shell Come a little but closer ....And you can tell Out of the darkness…Get into the light Go a little bit deeper….Get some insight Is someone watchin …Are we alone? On this fucked up planet…that we call home We’re on a journey…Both day and night I’m awake or I’m dreamin need some insight And the cycles spin and turn …And the ashes they will burn And we suffer and we learn…We pay we earn You get the picture baby Suicide bombers… the PLO… Al Qaeda, Bin Laden…Where did he go? Twin Towers burnin.. We got to fight… Gonna blow the whole world up need some insight A revelation…Turn the page And spin the cycle….Confluence age We’re only human…This is our plight We turn on television for our insight And the cycles spin and turn …And the ashes they will burn And we suffer and we learn…We pay we earn In the shadow of a heart…Come together, play a part Cast reflections in the dark…On who we are And from our deepest darkness we begin to see the light Like a rainbow following a light storm Inner visions lead us where our dreams and hopes ignite Take us back to where we’re safe and warm And the cycles spin and turn …And the ashes they will burn And we suffer and we learn…We pay we earn In the shadow of a heart…Come together, play a part Cast reflections in the dark…On who we are

Circle Game 05:22
Verse 1 Yesterday a child came out to wonder Caught a dragonfly inside a jar Fearful when the sky was filled with thunder And tearful at the falling of a star Chorus 1 And the seasons they go round and round And the painted ponies go up and down We’re captive on the carousel of time We can’t return We can only look behind from where we came And go round & round & round in the circle game Verse 2 Then the child moved 10 times round the seasons Skated over ten clear golden streams Words like when you’re older Must appease him And promises of someday make his dreams Chorus 2 And the seasons they go round and round The painted ponies go up and down We’re captive on the carousel of time We can’t return We only look behind from where we came And go round & round & round in the circle game Verse 3 Sixteen springs & sixteen summers gone now Cartwheels turn to car wheels through the town And they tell him take your time it won’t be long now Till you drag your feet to slow the circle down Chorus 3 And the seasons they go round and round And the painted ponies go up and down We’re captive on the carousel of time We can’t return We can only look behind from where we came And go round & round & round in the circle game Verse 4 The years spin by and now the boy is twenty Though his dreams have lost some grandeur coming true They’ll be new dreams Maybe better dreams they’ll be plenty Before the last revolving year is through Chorus 4 And the seasons they go round and round And the painted ponies go up and down We’re captive on the carousel of time We can’t return We only look behind from where we came And go round - & round - & round & round and round in the circle game

Never Fit In 04:22
How can I fit with the in crowd? When I never fit in to a crowd How come I'm here with the in crowd? When I never fit into a crowd Well I keep running into rejection And I never know when it's aroused Cause I'll never fit in fit in fit in.... Immature and unprofessional Treats me like a common criminal I'll never reach the glass ceiling In the boardroom I’ll never be found Cause I'll never fit in fit in fit in. How can I fit with the in crowd? When I never fit into a crowd How come I'm here with the in crowd? When I never fit into a crowd? I'm too damaged to pass the inspection I can tell by the look in his eyes Cause I'll never fit in, fit in, fit in... Is it you? Is it me? Is it us? Is it them? Could it be that you do what you want cause you can? And maybe if you knew me you might give a damn who I am Is it me? Is it him? Why I never fit it Is it us against them? Start all over again And maybe if you knew me you might understand, understand When I'm troubled I look for perfection Set the focus clear on up to the sky Cause I'll never fit in, fit in, fit in....Oooh... Cause I'll never fit in, fit in, fit in Cause I'll never fit in, fit in, fit in

about

Joy Mover is something different. In a world of over-produced, bombastic music she stands out as something unique. Rather than screaming, she uses her voice to communicate in a very personal and unique way. Instead of over-the-top riffing to portray intensity, she coasts over the melodies in her songs, which allows the words to be digested. Her jazz background also allows her to inject the songs with a refreshing touch of scat singing on occasion. There is an intensity but a controlled intensity to her performances. Together with producer Vinnie Zummo, Joy has come up with a unique album.
__________________________

Vinnie Zummo: “ Joy had heard some of my music online and contacted me about producing her. She had sent some of her material that she had recorded so far and I found that though I liked the songs, the arrangements were overwhelming her voice. So the first thing I did was create a sound that allowed her voice to breathe and communicate the lyrics as opposed to fighting against the arrangements to be heard. I think we have come up with something unique.”

Joy Mover:
“For these songs in particular, I was seeking a producer/arranger completely outside the music-box and when I heard and saw Vinnie’s ‘Ringo’ video I was completely blown away on many levels. When I approached him for this project, he spoke of his hypersensitivity to the female singing voice – and felt he could bring out the best in mine. He further explained that he had many years of experience as his wife Janice was also a singer and songwriter with whom he performed, composed and recorded as well.

The originals on this set were written during a period in which I was living the double life of creating music whilst working as a mid-level executive in the corporate fast lane. ‘Never Fit In’ depicts a state of mind where I came to realize that my values and philosophy were too far off status quo to be acceptable within the entrenched culture. ‘Steal my Thunder’ (another work-induced piece), was inspired by a co-worker who had the annoying habit of taking wrongful credit for my thoughts where it was not due.

Both ‘Martin Said’ and ‘Insight’ speak to the turbulent conditions in which we find ourselves living and the belief that our healing must first begin at home within ourselves. As the one and only power we have as individuals is that of self-transformation. That power alone – can sustain & evolve us through these dark-ages if we do what’s right in our hearts. Toward that end and after many attempts to ‘fit in’, I dropped out of the corporate world in 2009 and released my first CD in 2012. ‘Insight’ is my second… “

Though Zummo plays most of the instruments on the project, some special guests were brought on board to sweeten the pot. Joy’s brother jazz saxophone genius Bob Mover plays brilliantly on the songs Neverland and Insight and John Sebastian plays amazing blues harp and rhythm guitar on You’ll Never Walk Alone/House Of The Rising Sun. On the haunting Winter Song piano genius Kenny Barron and bass-master Cameron Brown can be heard in a live, first take studio performance with Vinnie Zummo. Joy’s emotional vocal on Winter Song will not leave you soon.

If you are looking for something different and this album has landed in your hands, I think you will be pleasantly surprised. This CD is a breath of fresh air in an often caustic musical world. Joy’s melodies and Zummo’s arrangements will stay with you for a long time.

about

Joy Mover Hopkinton, Rhode Island

Listen closely. The next voice you hear will be a new one. Newer than new. A coy, edgy, imaginative voice. A shivery, fugitive voice, barely touching the notes, entering and departing the ear without leave. The voice belongs to Joy Mover. She is very different; provocative, thoughtful, interesting. To follow her in song is to exercise the mind. Her voice is always… beautiful ... more
